Starting Monday, July 1, consumers in the United States can place pre-orders for the PQ321Q True 4K UHD monitor from ASUS, following the device’s unveiling roughly a month ago.

The monitor was put up for reservations through retailers such as Newegg, Amazon, and TigerDirect, with a price tag of $3,499 (€2,687) attached to it.

The PQ321Q True 4K UHD Monitor is the first commercially available desktop display, capable of providing users with a stunning Ultra HD 3840 x 2160 resolution, or the equivalent of four Full HD displays combined.

The monitor arrives on shelves with a 31.5-inch LED-backlit 4K Ultra HD display, capable of a pixel density of 140 pixels-per-inch and a 16:9 aspect ratio, while also offering support for 10-bit RGB deep color. The PQ321Q comes with a 30-day Zero Bright Dot warranty.

“The ASUS PQ321Q True 4K UHD Monitor uses cutting-edge Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide (IGZO) rather than traditional amorphous silicon for the active layer of its LCD panel,” ASUS explains.

“IGZO panels support much smaller transistors than amorphous silicon, enabling much smaller pixels. This allows the PQ321Q to have four times the amount of pixels compared to a 1920 x 1080 Full HD display.”

The new monitor offers 176-degree wide viewing angles on both vertical and horizontal planes, a 350cd/m² brightness rating, and 8ms gray-to-gray response time. The IGZO technology also provides the device with increased power savings.

ASUS also notes that the PQ321Q is only 35mm thin at its thickest point, and that it arrives on the market with DisplayPort (with a Multi Stream Transport for 60Hz refresh rates at 3840 x 2160 resolution) and dual HDMI ports with Picture-by-Picture support.

ASUS’s 4K Monitor also includes 2W stereo speakers, as well as a stand that offers full height, swivel, and tilt adjustments. It is also wall-mountable.

As Engadget notes, users interested in the new ASUS PQ321Q can find it on the websites of Amazon, NewEgg, and TigerDirect today.
