It looks like the first motherboard to feature Intel's latest generation X58 chipset has officially been introduced by Taiwanese manufacturer ASUS. The company's new P6T DELUXE mobo is touted as featuring Intel's latest desktop platform, although there's no direct specification of that being the X58 chipset from the leading chipmaker, the Santa Clara, California-based Intel.

Aside from a rather small photo of the product, ASUS has also detailed the board’s tech specs. It is claimed to deliver impressive overclocking capabilities and energy efficiency, with the help of the Super Hybrid Engine, a technology developed by ASUS for its mobos. Other features include support for ASUS' TurboV and EPU technologies, as well as for the OC Palm, an optional add-on hardware device that can provide real-time overclocking even during gameplay or 3D design applications.

In addition, the new P6T DELUXE motherboard from ASUS will come with a SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) controller, enabling users to benefit from the advantages of SAS hard disks. The company has also revealed that the new motherboard uses the breakthrough 16+2 phase VRM design, to support Intel's upcoming processors.

In related news, one of the ASUS' upcoming, high-performance desktop platforms that will support Intel's next-generation Core i7 processors, has finally surfaced in pretty pictures. The Rampage II Extreme will feature six DDR3 memory DIMMs, as well as three PCI-Express x16 slots and a VTT CPU power card. Overclocking enthusiasts will likely find this board an attractive offer, as it will also provide a few buttons to help them achieve high overclocking levels.

Although there no direct details, the board is likely to sport both CrossFireX and triple-SLI support. It will also provide six SATA 3.0 Gbps connectors, dual Gigabit Ethernet, and even FireWire and eSATA ports.

Unfortunately, we don't really know when this board is bound to arrive on store shelves but, from the looks of it, it might just become one of the highest performance desktop platforms on the market.
