ASUS also expects to become the world’s 3rd notebook marketshare holder by the end of 2014

ASUS has big plans for 2014 and, if in 2013 60% of its revenue came from notebook and notebook/tablet hybrids sales, the company is looking to increase that.

I have recently told you that ASUS is gearing up to release two Chromebook models (C200 and C300) and now sources familiar with the matter (via DigiTimes) claim the company will launch the successor of the Asus Transformer T100, the 11.6-inch T200 somewhere in May-June.

The T100 was rolled out in the fourth quarter of 2013 and so far 500,000 units have been shipped world-wide. By the end of 2014, ASUS hopes the combined force of the two Transformers models will help it sell a whopping four million units (that’s quite a leap).

The same sources claim ASUS is ready to cooperate with Google once more and breathe life into the Nexus 8, a tablet that will arrive in May-June, same as the next-gen Transformer.

Through these new product launches, ASUS expects to become the world’s third biggest notebook market share holder by Q4 2014. This is a pretty bold statement and it remains to be seen if the company will manage to reach this goal.
