It appears that ASUS is not letting any of its business outlets out of its sight, especially that of mobile personal computers, having unleashed a new pair of machines known as the N53 series.

The Sandy Bridge series of central processing units from Intel has scored a new design win, or pair of design wins, in the N53 series of notebooks.

While the rate at which netbook and notebook shipments are growing has been slowed down by tablets, the laptops are in no way really threatened.

As such, ASUS did not show any signs of reluctance when it had the N53SV-SX387V and N53SN-SZ127V put up for order in Europe.

These N53 systems are, as one would expect, based on the newest series of processors from Intel, that being the second generation of Core chips.

More specifically, the 2.3 GHz Core i5-2410M processor is used in the N53SV-SX387V, while the other one has the 2.0 GHz Core i7-2630QM CPU.

The N53SN-SZ127V is the mightier of the duo, with a 15.6-inch Full HD display (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) and 6 GB of RAM (random access memory).

This model also has a GeForce GT 550M discrete graphics card, a 500 GB HDD and a Blu-ray combo drive.

The other machine has the same size, but its LED-backlit panel settles for the 1,366 x 768 pixels resolution (HD).

What's more, the discrete graphics card is the NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M, while the 500 GB HDD has a platter speed of 5,400 ROM (rotations per minute) instead of 7,200.

Finally, the N53SV-SX387V comes with 4 GB of RAM and the same Blu-ray combo drive unit as above.

The two machines, complete with their WiFi, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI, USB 3.0, card readers and batteries, should be up for sale in Europe already, loaded with Windows 7 Professional.

The N53SV-SX387V costs 949 Euro, while the N53SN-SZ127V starts at 1,299 Euro.
