DTS, a digital technology company focused on delivering the ultimate entertainment experience, and ASUSTeK Computer have jointly announced today that computer users will be able to enjoy the quality and performance of the DTS Surround Sensation UltraPC on a number of ASUS' mainstream and enthusiast motherboards. The P5Q Turbo and the M4 Series desktop computer platforms will provide PC enthusiasts with support for a high-quality audio system that should be noticed, no matter the sound system in use. According to DTS, a high-quality surround sound experience will be available for those who listen to either the PC's speakers or headphones.

“Millions of people around the globe will now have access to the highest quality surround sound experience even when listening on two channel stereo headphones or speakers,” said David H. Tan, vice president, Product Management and North America Licensing, DTS, Inc. “We are pleased to be partners with such a forward looking company as ASUSTeK, which understands that consumers want the ultimate entertainment experience from their computing products.”

According to DTS, its Surround Sensation UltraPC takes advantage of a post-processing technology that can enable the surround sound effect, even when the PC is using just two stereo speakers or headphones. The technology is said to be capable of creating a 3D wall of sound, which consequently exceeds the technological borders of using just two speakers. In addition the system is also designed to improve the quality of the digitally compressed audio file.

The two motherboards from ASUS, the P5Q Pro Turbo and the ASUS M4A79T, have both been designed to deliver support for a different processor, with the former enabling support for Intel CPUs and the latter being built for AMD platforms. These two platforms will enable computer users to take advantage of the features provided by the DTS Surround Sensation UltraPC system.
