The device gets released even earlier than everyone thought

ASUS was supposed to release the 10.1-inch Memo Pad tablet at this year's edition of the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2013, Barcelona, Spain), or so previous reports said.

This may still happen, since the company hasn't launched the item everywhere in the world yet.

But that's just the thing: there are places in the world where the slate is already shipping, namely Thailand.

The tablet was launched during a Mobile Expo, as reported by Droid Sans.

With a WXGA IPS display (1280 x 768 pixels), it gets a 1.2 GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor, 16 GB storage space, 1 GB RAM and a 1.2 megapixel camera on the front, plus a 5 MP rear camera.

Then there is the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.

All in all, it covers all the basics, which is more than satisfying given the price of 10,900 baht ($366 / 272-366 Euro).
