You might remember that a few days ago I told you ASUS was prepping a super affordable tablet from the MeMO Pad family that was to retail for just $97 / €74.

This piece of news got a lot of budget tablet seekers excited and we were expecting to see ASUS put the new tab on display at IFA 2014.

Well for some reason, the company has restrained from doing so, but even if this is the case, ASUS still found the time to quietly roll out the MeMO Pad 8 ME70CX.

As you can see, the tablet has popped up in the official Taiwanese ASUS website, complete with accessories, pricing info and specs (as seen at Tablet News).

We knew some of the specs before, but it’s good to get the confirmation. The tab has a 7-inch screen with a low 1,024 x 600 pixel resolution, an Intel Atom Z2520 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

The chip works in concert with a dual-core SGX544MP2 GPU, so gaming on the device shouldn't be bad, either. The tab takes advantage of only one camera residing on the back, in the form of a 2MP snapper with f/2.8 aperture.

The shooter has been equipped with ASUS’ own Pixelmaster tech and other feats like Depth of field and Time Rewind.

The tablet should bestow upon users up to 8 hours of video playback (via the 3220 mAh battery). Android 4.4. KitKat is the default operating system on board with the company's ZenUI plastered on top. ASUS also throws in 5GB of WebStorage cloud space. All this for just $100 / €76. Not bad!
