Firmware update isn’t able to do SKU conversions or downgrade your currently installed one

ASUS has made available firmware version 3.2.4 developed for its FonePad device, which consists of several downloadable packages that describe a specific SKU (stock-keeping unit).

Because no official changelog is provided along with the release, all I can do is assume that the new firmware might improve the device’s overall performance and stability.

As for installing the package, first you should find out your currently installed SKU, because the update process isn’t capable of changing between stock-keeping units, or installing an older version. Applying a wrong one might cause update failure and device malfunction.

Therefore, go to Settings → About Tablet → Build number, and from there, you should be able to read your FonePad’s SKU that consists of the letters before the first underscore line (if the build number is “WW_epad-9.X.X.X._2012xxxx,” then the SKU will be “WW”).

Moreover, while installing the firmware, make sure you don’t interrupt the process in any way, so that the device doesn’t encounter any future problems because of the update crash.

So, follow the link below, and from the list, choose the one that best describes your SKU, and update the device in order to find out the changes made in the 3.2.4 version.
