Computer maker ASUS is reportedly gearing up for the launch of a new 7-inch tablet PC in the near future, one that might arrive on shelves under the name of Fonepad K004.

The new slate was spotted with model number ME371MG attached to it, while featuring an Intel Atom Z2420 processor inside, along with 1GB of RAM.

Furthermore, the device is said to sport 16GB of internal memory, along with a 3MP photo snapper on the back. The 7-inch screen should boast a 1280 x 800 pixels resolution.

As UnwiredView notes, the tablet PC has already been priced in Thailand, at 7,900 BHT, which would translate into around $265, or €195.

Although no official confirmation on the slate has emerged so far, ASUS is expected to formally introduce it before the end of this month, at the 2013 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
