The dynamic contrast ratio, at least, is out of this world

There are two new monitors up for sale in Europe, thanks to ASUS. They are called VX238T and VX238H, have Full HD native resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) and sell with three-year warranties.

In that order, the displays are priced at 179 Euro / $179 and 189 Euro / $189, respectively.

The main difference between them is that the VX238T has a 5ms response time and D-Sub / DVI inputs, while the VX238H has 1ms GTG response time and D-Sub / Dual-HDMI inputs.

Everything else is the same for both, from the brightness of 250 cd/m2 to the two 1.5W speakers and the dynamic contrast ratio (DCR) of 80,000,000:1.

For those unfamiliar with this concept, the actual contrast ratio is of 1,000:1, or thereabouts. The DCR only increases the clarity of low-light film scenes when watching films in dark rooms.

Finally, ASUS tossed in the Splendid Video Intelligence Technology (it further enhances color, contrast and brightness).
