The ASUS MeMO Pad 8 with Moorefield processor might have been launched in Japan, but by the looks of it, a 7-inch tablet taking advantage of the same Intel architecture will be making its way in the US not too far from now.

As revealed by PhoneArena, the ASUS K007 has been spotted making an appearance at the FCC, which indicates that the tablet will be made available in the country soon.

The device boasts a 7-inch display with a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and draws life from an Intel Atom Z3560, which is part of the Moorefield family.

The chip was launched earlier this year and is optimized to play nicely with devices running on the Android operating system.

Other specifications include a 5MP rear-facing camera, a frontal one (but we’re not given the specifics in the filing), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. The OS has not been specified, but it’s most likely Android 4.4 KitKat.

As you can see, the specs on this little newcomer are quite sweet, and if ASUS throws in an attractive price tag of around 100 bucks (€75), I’m pretty sure that the K007 will sell like hot cakes.
