ASUS, one of the world's leading vendors of computer components and an active player on the notebook market, has just announced the launch of its UnLimited Series (UL) of notebooks in the UK. The new systems have been designed to provide customers with a choice for Intel's latest CULV processors and are said to be capable of delivering up to 12 hours of battery life. Expected to become available sometime around the launch of Microsoft's much-anticipated Windows 7 operating system, the new laptops offer a choice for two different display sizes, namely 13.3 inches and 15.6 inches, designed for portability but also for a higher-performance computing experience.

Kicking it off with the ultraportable 13.3-inch UL30 model, users will be able to take advantage of Intel's CULV platform inside a lightweight design that offers a range of features, including the much-anticipated Windows 7 operating system. In addition, all three notebooks, including the 15.6-inch UL50AG and UL50VG, have been featured with a brushed aluminum chassis and Altec Lansing speakers.

Additional features of the three include a multitouch trackpad, webcam and up to 500GB of storage space. In addition, according to ASUS, with the company’s own Power4Gear technology, which is designed to provide users with a longer battery life by going through four power profiles, including high-performance, entertainment, “quiet office” and battery saving, the systems will enable users to take advantage of up to 12 hours of battery life, a feature that should satisfy most consumers who are always on the road.

The three laptops are scheduled for availability on October 22, with the pricing set to go for £599 inc. VAT, £699 inc. VAT and £799 for the UL30, UL50AG and the UL50VG, respectively. The last one also provides users with a choice for a dedicated graphics chip, for a boost in overall graphics performance.
