Asus has updated its product portfolio to include two new graphics solutions that are based on the AMD Radeon HD 6770 and HD 6750 video cards and both of these feature custom-designed cooling systems that can deliver up to 20% better performance than the reference cards.

The more powerful of the two solutions is based on the HD 6770 GPU and uses the company's trademark DirectCU cooling system that employs direct contact copper heat pipes to draw the heat away from the graphics core.

Asus claims that this system is able to achieve 20% better performance than the reference designs while also decreasing the overall system noise.

The second solution in Asus' lineup is called the HD 6750 Formula and this too uses a custom designed cooling system that the Taiwanese company claims it lowers the card's operating temperatures with up to 13% ( when compared with reference graphics cards).

Otherwise, these solutions don't differ to much from all the other HD 6770 and HD 6750 video cards announced until now, except for the memory configuration as Asus has decided to go with slower 1000MHz GDDR5 chips (4000MHz data rate).

AMD's Radeon HD 6700-series graphics cards are just a rebrand of the popular Juniper-based HD 5700 models with a few minor BIOS tweaks meant to enable HDMI 1.4a and Blu-ray 3D support.

Spec wise, the Radeon HD 6770 features 800 stream processors, 40 texture units, 16 ROP units, a GPU clock of 850MHz, a 128-bit memory interface, and 1GB of GDDR5 video buffer with a stock clock of 1200MHz (4800MHz data rate).

Its smaller brother, the Radeon HD 6750, packs 720 stream processors, 36 texture units, 16 ROP units, a 700MHz GPU clock, a 128-bit interface and 512MB or 1GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 1150MHz (4600MHz effective).

Asus hasn't disclosed any details regarding prices, but AMD stated that the Radeon HD 6700-series solutions should retail for about the same price as their Juniper counterparts.
