The new motherboard integrates Quad-SLI technology and supports Intel's Core 2 Extreme CPUs. It also features three PCIe X16 slots, supporting two video cards + one physics card configurations to deliver improved gaming realism.

Speccial Asus-only features for this new motherboard include:

- 8-phase power design which provides efficient operation to generate less heat than conventional power solutions, especially when CPU requires more current immediately under heavy loading or when extreme overclocking modes are activated. - WiFi-AP Solo ? provides access point and wireless client modes and it is active even when the computer sleeps. - Fan-less design ? features Stack Cool system and heat pipes for effective and noiseless cooling; no system damage from fan failure. The copper heat-pipe directs heat generated by the chipset to the heatsink near the back I/O ports. Stack Cool effectively transfers heat generated by critical components to the other side of the specially designed PCB for fast heat dissipation. - Performance and silent computing ? AI Nap function determines systems to operate at minimum power and noise when users are temporarily away; AI Gear offers profiles to adjust CPU frequency and vCore voltage. - Supreme FX audio card with DTS support ? offers enhanced signal-to noise ratio, 24 bit/192 kHz full sampling in all 7.1 surround channels and Array Mic/Noise filter which improves sound quality for games, MP3s and CD audio content.

The motherboard also features support for Pentium D / Pentium 4/ Celeron D CPUs and it is based on Nvidia's nForce 590 SLI Intel Edition chipset. No details about availability and price yet.
