Computex, the computer and consumer-electronics show that's just hours away from kick-off, will be the host for the release of a number of new solutions, including a couple of new products coming from one of Taiwan's leading companies, ASUS. As you may remember, ASUS stole the show back at CeBIT, earlier this year, but the outfit appears to be on a roll to impress us, with its latest gadgetry. That is the case with the Immensity motherboard, showcased at the company's booth, at Computex.

Our colleagues over at the Romanian site Lab501, are on-site at Computex and have been able to grab a few early snapshots of what ASUS will show this year. Among other things, their attention was briefly directed to one of the company's upcoming X58-based motherboards, one that adopts the now-famous Lucid Hydra chip. Part of the ASUS prestigious Republic of Gamers series, the new board will enable consumers to mix Intel's high-end Core i7 processors with graphics cards from both NVIDIA and ATI.

Unfortunately, we don't have many technical specifications available at this time, but from the looks of it, the board is only featured with two PCI-e X16 graphics slots, which means the number of combinations available with this board is rather limited. Still, we're pretty sure you'll get the ASUS ROG Connect feature that is available for all of ASUS's latest high-end boards, as well as a number of other technologies, specifically tailored to meet the requirements of computer and overclocking enthusiasts.

We should know more details on the ASUS Immensity and its Lucid Hydra-powered capabilities in the following days and weeks, as we dive into the news coming from Computex. So, be sure to stay tuned and catch up to the latest news in IT and technology as we'll try to keep you up to speed with all the important releases.
