Aside from being one of the largest manufacturers of desktop motherboards, ASUS is also known for its well built graphics cards. The Taiwanese company develops its cards using graphics processors from both AMD and NVIDIA, which is why it can provide just the right thing for a large number of users, ranging from entry-level to down-right extreme cards.

As some of you already know, Santa Clara-based chip maker NVIDIA has recently released a new line of entry-level graphics cards equipped with the company's GeForce 9400 GPU. It is exactly this GPU that ASUS has used for three of its latest cards, each one designed to deliver a different set of features.

Two of ASUS' GeForce 9400 graphics cards are equipped with the same single slot, custom cooling solution, but are different in terms of the amount of graphics memory each model can deliver. ASUS can provide its users with both a 512MB and a 1GB DDR2 version of NVIDIA's entry-level GeForce 9400 GPU. The difference between the two cards is that one of them will most certainly do better in gaming applications, although the GeForce 9400 hasn't been designed to meet the performance requirements of computer gamers.

Aside from that, the two GeForce 9400 graphics cards pretty much come with the same technical sheet. A PCI-Express 2.0 interface, support for DirectX 10 and NVIDIA's SLI technology, while the GPU, Memory and Shaders clock speed have been set to 550MHz, 800MHz and 1375MHz, respectively.

With the other GeForce 9400 card, ASUS decided to deliver a product that can provide graphics performance without the noise generated by the cooling solution on the reference card. The result is the EN9400GT SILENT, which is featured with 512MB of GDDR2 memory, and is equipped with a passive, dual-slot custom cooling solution. Aside from the difference in design, this card also features the same tech specs as the other two.
