The new ASUS Android firmware is here and it brings improved performance and stability for the PadFone 2 and PadFone 2 Station, higher 3G/Wi-Fi connection stability and increased Garmin navigation performance.

It optimizes launcher stability, email fonts, contacts app performance as well as the HDR and automatic white balance camera functions. It also upgrades camera firmware, adds support for Need for Speed (NFS) games and improves call volume, volume setting and power management system.

The ASUS PadFone 2, as it's named, is a combination between a 4.7-inch HD phone and a 10.1-inch WXGA pad. It has an Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) platform, quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm CPU and 2 GB LPDDR2 RAM.

The stock-keeping units (SKUs) available for download are WWE, HK, RU, TW and CHT. It is highly recommended not to update the firmware with the wrong SKU as it could cause update failure or damage to the device.

So, if you want to update your PadFone 2 firmware, first check your SKU version by going to [Settings] → [About PadFone] → [Build number], and after that, follow the link below and choose the accurate SKU for your device.
