The new update can be flashed via the USB Flashback feature

A new BIOS update for ASUS' SABERTOOTH X79, P9X79, P9X79 Deluxe, P9X79 LE and P9X79 PRO is now available to download. Version 3501 is claimed to enhance compatibility with some USB devices.

The update procedure is simple and requires a USB Flash drive and the firmware from the link below.

Since ASUS thought of making BIOS flashing as simple as possible, all you need to do is copy the .CAP file on to the Flash drive. The next step is to plug the memory stick in the white-colored USB port followed by pushing the USB BIOS Flashback button for three seconds, until it starts to blink.

The installation is now taking place and when the LED Flashing stops, then you know the procedure is complete.

Be advised, though, unplugging your system, removing the storage device or pressing the CLR_CMOS button while the update is ongoing will result in you having to start all over again.

Also, if you see the blue light of the button flashing for a few seconds then turning stable, know that something is not right. According to ASUS, your USB Flash drive is not installed properly or the filename and format are not right.
