The new version consists of separate download records compatible with a specific SKU

ASUS has outed the latest firmware package developed for its Fonepad Note 6, namely version 10.16.1.22.4, which consists of separate download records compatible with a specific stock-keeping unit only.

The firmware targeted at the 6-inch mobile tablet doesn’t benefit from any release notes whatsoever, therefore I can only assume that the new version includes changes and fixes that improve the device’s overall performance and stability.

However, if you’re curious about it, you can also apply the new firmware and find out yourself what the changes are. In order to do that, you should know that the upgrade process isn’t capable of applying an SKU other than the one already installed on the mobile tablet.

Moreover, trying to install a wrong file or an earlier firmware version might crash the update, and could also render the device unstable.

Therefore, go to Settings → About Tablet → Build Number, read carefully the SKU (it consists of the letters before the first underscore line), download the proper Firmware 10.16.1.22.4 for ASUS Fonepad Note 6, and apply it to the device.
