ASUS hasn’t yet forgotten its budget tablet products

Back in September 2013, when it was first unveiled at IFA in Berlin, the ASUS Fonepad 7 was bundled with Android 4.2.2.

Since then, the device has proved to be a decent seller, mostly grabbing customers’ attention due to its affordable price tag. And now ASUS is showing us it hasn't forgot about its budget 7-inch tablet, by announcing a major software update for the product, Gadgetmtech blog reports.

So Android 4.3 has been made available as an OTA (over-the-air) update for the Fonepad 7. Users should be getting the update notification gradually, so if you don’t see it yet, don’t get anxious.

The new Android build will provide improvements to the video player performance and image gallery, and Gallery Home Front.

In the absence of an official change log, more enhancements could be hiding in there, but so far I can't really tell. There’s also no world on behalf of ASUS regarding a possible update to Android 4.4 for the Fonepad 7.
