Gigabyte has unveiled a new gaming notebook and high-end motherboards for the ROG line, and it looks like the announcement also had information about two graphics cards based on NVIDIA technology.

It appears that the Republic of Gamers product series has now received its two latest graphics adapters, after it expanded with the addition of a notebook and two motherboards, among other things.

Turns out that ASUS is really serious in its intent to make a showing on the gaming market, hence the ROG MATRIX GTX 580 and the MARS II.

The ROG MATRIX 580, one might say, has a fairly self explanatory name, meaning that it is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 taken to even greater heights.

The GTX 580 is already an enthusiast-grade adapter, but ASUS gave it the advantages of direct contact copper heatpipes, two sound-dampened fans and ,thus, a 20% better cooling prowess (airflow is up to 600% stronger).

That said, the 19-Phase Super Alloy Power technology give a high overclocking headroom which owners can take advantage of through the GPU Tweak utility, as well as Enhanced TweakIt, ProbeIt and Safe Mode.

Meanwhile, the ROG MARS II takes things even higher than its sibling, mostly because it is a dual-GPU graphics adapter.

Indeed, the device is a stronger iteration of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 and has the same 19-Phase Super Alloy Power technology, plus the Direct CU dual-fan cooler.

It has 3 GB of GDDR 5 VRAM and will allow huge frame rates in even the most demanding games and at the highest possible settings.

“We are keen to provide the most innovative and powerful solutions for our users, which is why ROG has a team dedicated to researching and developing ideas that go well beyond what you might expect,” said ASUS Vice President and GM of Worldwide Sales, Jackie Hsu.
