ASUS has just introduced officially its Eee Pad Transformer tablet with Android 3.0 Honeycomb on board and an interesting hybrid docking design, which allows users to turn the tablet into a netbook.

The Honeycomb tablet is expected to be released on April 6th in UK and will be available for purchase from a wide range of retailers including PC World, Currys, Comet and Carphone Warehouse.

In addition, Eee Pad Transformer is currently available for pre-order online at Amazon UK and Ebuyer.

The tablet comes in two versions: 16GB for £379 and 32GB for £429. Both include WiFi and unlimited ASUS Webstorage free for 1 year.

Customers who want to be able to use the tablet as a notebook will have to pay an additional £50 to get the keyboard dock.

The Eee Pad Transformer tablet runs on Android 3.0 Honeycomb and features the ASUS Waveface UI, which allows for quick access to a host of utilities including remote access and a personal library for both books and multimedia.

The ASUS Waveface UI introduces some unique apps such as:

- MyNet for streaming media content; - MyLibrary with support for PDF and ePub formats; - MyCloud, which offers easy access to cloud content including WebStorage and the ASUS @Vibe media library; - MyDesktop that allows users to control files and applications on their other devices via the Eee Pad Transformer.

The tablet is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor for optimum performance and features a 24.4Wh Li-Polymer battery with up to 16-hour autonomy for all-day computing (pad and keyboard dock).

Other highlights of the tablet include 10.1-inch LED backlit high-resolution Corning Gorilla scratch-proof touchscreen, both front and rear cameras, mini HDMI port, 3D Stereo audio quality with SRS sound technology, as well as full support for Adobe Flash 10.2.
