As it happens, ASUS has begun to expand availability of a certain mobile computer that is revealed some time ago, one Eee PC 1015PW entry-level laptop based on Intel Pine Trail.

The Eee PC 1015PW was revealed some time ago and even listed online at one point, but it has yet to become available on a worldwide basis.

Basically, even though it was supposedly added to a German retailer's website not too long ago, widespread availability in Europe has yet to be established.

Needless to say, being the netbook advocate that it is, ASUS intends to remedy this 'issue' as soon as possible, in time for Christmas in fact, or so it appears.

As a recent report has it, the device is on track for shipping through European retailers starting next month, December 2010.

For those interested in a reminder (or those that are hearing about this netbook for the first time), the product is a 10.1-inch netbook based on the Intel Pine Trail platform.

The CPU at its heart is the Atom N550 dual-core whose frequency is of 1.5 GHz and which is backed up, in this case, by 1 GB of DDR3 memory.

There is also the GMA (graphics media accelerator) 3150 Integrated Graphics, which handles the aforementioned 10.1-inch screen, whose native resolution is of 1,024 x 600 pixels.

Storage is provided by a hard disk drive, which has a capacity of 250 GB and is supplemented by 500 extra GB of web storage.

Other specifications include a card reader, 10/100 LAN, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0.

All of these components are packed inside a 1.25 kg-heavy frame measuring 262 x 178 x 36.4 mm and run on the power provided by a 6-cell battery.

Finally, as far as the software side of things goes, the netbook runs Windows 7 Starter and boasts the Express Gate instant-on OS.
