A pioneer in the netbook market and a leading vendor of motherboards, ASUS has recently announced the introduction of its latest addition in the networking family of products, with the launch of the RT-N16 wireless high-speed router. The new product has been specifically designed to take advantage of the specifications of the new 802.11n
connectivity interface, enabling users with increased download speeds and an accessible user interface. According to the Taiwanese company, its latest networking solution follows three main guidelines, namely to provide users with speed, simplicity and security in a single reliable product.

The ASUS RT-N16 wireless router has been designed using the wireless-N networking standard for wireless communications, providing users with maximum data speeds of 300Mbps. It is based on a powerful CPU and has been equipped with 128MB of DDR2 video memory, achieving fast performance levels, with the end-user benefiting from a no-lag connection setup. For ease of use, the router has been equipped with the ASUS EZ UI, composed of a number of connectivity features, including EZQoS, All-in-one printer, AiDisk, QIS (Quick Internet Setup), Network Map, Dr. Surf and EZ MFP.

Additional features include the router's three antennas for extended communication support, the two USB ports, one WAN and four Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports as well as a number of security features that are designed to provide users with a secure wireless solution. Among some of the security standards that are supported on ASUS' RT-N16 router there's the support for 64/128-bit WEP, WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, WPA-Enterprise, WPA2-Enterprise and Radius with 802.1x, which have pretty much become industry standards.

No word on pricing and availability for the new ASUS router, but it's highly likely it will soon be made available for all home users looking for the latest generation of such devices.

This router is horrible. My family have had it for about a month now. And what it constantly does is LAG! You can't even connect to the router itself (the set up page 192.168.2.1) not even through CROSSOVER WIRE!!! Now, about games. Any kind of game will go fine for a few minutes. But then.. it will lag like hell. Just played a round of Left 4 Dead 2 with my friend. Full Lag... Almost got killed by the freaking zombies. So yeah. I don't suggest buying this router.
