Those disappointed in ASUS' decision to not make a version of the Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablet with 3G support can now breathe a sigh of relief.

ASUS is reported to have confirmed that it will make a 3G-capable Transformer Prime after all.

Back in November, it said it didn't intend to make one, not in time for the official launch anyway.

After that, the German division again said no UMTS/HSPA model was inbound.

The company has changed its mind, although this doesn't mean that 3G Primes will be up for demonstration at CES 2012.

While the company will show off a 7-inch and a 10-inch model next week, the 3G versions will only be made available in March.

Whether or not a 4G tablet will follow has not been made clear. Probably yes, assuming customers are vocal enough about it.
