Yesterday saw the ASUS C200 Chromebook be made available for pre-order on Amazon for $249 / €182 a pop, so we were wondering when its larger brother would arrive.

It didn’t take long and the ASUS C300 has popped up in retail, too. So if you want a Chromebook with a larger display and greater storage capacity in your life, you can now secure one of these laptops from Promevo for $329 / €241.

Earlier this week we told you the C300 will be offered in additional yellow, pink or blue coloring options, but it appears you’ll be able to get only the drab black version from Promevo (via Notebook Italia).

Strangely enough, the ASUS C300 has showed up at ExcaliberPC too, where it’s already discounted with $50 / €37. So if you purchase from here, you’ll manage to get the device for just $249 / €182, which is what the C200 sells for over at Amazon.

Compared to the ASUS C200, the ASUS C300 is a little bit larger and heavier. The 11.6-incher is just 2.5 lbs / 1.13 kg, but the C300 beefed up until it reached 3.1 lbs / 1.4 kg.

The ASUS C300 Chromebook arrives with a 13.3-inch screen and offers the standard resolution of 1366 x 769 pixel density. But at least, the laptop has an anti-glare display which allows users to operate the machine even if they are doing so in open spaces.

So, in case you would like to have a Chromebook with a more spacious display and full HD resolution, we suggest you refocus your interest towards the Samsung Chromebook 2.

Anyway, the new ASUS Chromebook draws life from an Intel Celeron N2830 dual-core Bay Trail processor fitted with 2GB of RAM and backed up by 16GB of internal storage.

However, Promevo says a variant with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage will also be made available at some point.

The notebook is equipped with 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI, SD card slot, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, 720p webcam and headset jack.

Promevo has also done a hands-on with the device straight out of the box and claims the speakers are pretty loud and the touchpad is a little larger than what you’d be expecting (akin to what we usually see in 14-inch notebooks).

You should also note, the 13-inch model offers a weaker battery life than its 11.6-inch counterpart, but thanks to its Bay Trail CPU, it should provide enough time for you to do complete your daily tasks.
