Just a week ago the all-new ASUS Chromebooks were listed with a couple of online retails in the US and the UK and we told you the devices will be made available for customer pick-up soon.

And that’s exactly the news we bring you today. One of the two models, the ASUS Chromebook C200 is now up for pre-order with some retails, even though ASUS is yet to make an official announcement about it.

So if you want to secure your device, you can head over at Promevo and place your ASUS C200 Chromebook order for $250 / €181. Expect the device to start shipping out to adopters starting May (via OMGChrome).

For those of you who arrived late to the party, the ASUS C200 Chromebook comes with an 11.6-inch display and 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. Power is granted by an Intel Celeron N2830 Bay Trail processor fitted with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

Other specifications include HDMI out, USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0 port and SD card slot. ASUS also has the larger 13.3-inch C300 Chromebook that is expected to arrive with more memory and storage and, of course, will sell for a heftier price-tag.

We can tell you the 13.3-incher will boast the same resolution as its smaller brother and draw power from the same Intel Celeron N2830 processor but backed up by 4GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage onboard.

The Chromebook also incorporates Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0 and a 4-cell battery. Note that the two Chromebooks don’t offer the touch or full HD resolution and, if you want the latter, you’ll have to turn your attention to the Samsung Chromebook 2 (the 13.3-inch model).

Promevo is one of the first retailers to offer the new ASUS Chromebook, as they are a Google certified re-seller.

Promevo has also reviewed the Chromebook, claiming “excellent power efficiency without compromising performance.”

The team also ran some benchmark tests using Google’s Octane software. The ASUS Chromebook C200 ended up scoring 7,387 points. The results were then compared to the Toshiba 13 Chrome-OS laptop and ARM-based HP 11 Chromebook, which grabbed 10,400 and 5,300 points respectively, showing the ASUS Chromebook will offer quite a satisfactory performance.

The review also points out the new ASUS Chromebook should provide users with a hefty 10 hours of work time, which is very good for a $250 / €181 device.

Since the ASUS C200 has already been offered for pre-order, the 13.3-inch C300 shouldn't lag behind.
