Gaming headphones are always coming out, which means that companies can have a hard time finding something that will set their newest one apart from all others. Here is ASUS' latest attempt.

Called Cerberus, the new headphone set that the company made goes with the most straightforward pair of assets: size and performance.

The drivers are large, with diameters of 60 mm, and are made of neodymium magnets. They are capable of delivering “bass that's full of punch.”

They also have large, 100 mm ear cushions that keep you comfortable and isolate you from external noise as well.

Furthermore, ASUS installed two microphones instead of one. There's an in-line microphone with mute switch, and a detachable, foam-filter boom mic as well.

The latter is meant for games where you need to communicate with your teammates, or throw taunts and barbs at your opponents.

Another asset is the cable, or rather cables. The headset comes with a 1.2-meter / 4-foot cable but the product bundle includes a second, 1.3-meter / 4.2-foot cable extender, for a total of 2.5 meters / 8 feet.

Both cables are braided, meaning they will be easier to roll up and hide, and less likely to wear down over time since there won't be any issue with stiff bending.

Furthermore, a Y-split is included, providing separate 3.5 mm headphone and microphone plugs. This ensures broad device compatibility.

That includes personal computers and gadgets, smartphones, tablets, music players, portable audio players, etc. All in all, the ASUS Cerberus weighs 266 grams / 0.58 pounds.

Unfortunately, ASUS did not include a price in its official announcement, so we have to wait and see when and where the Cerberus shows up. Online stores will probably be the ones that finally disclose these remaining details, which can take anything from a few days to several weeks or months.
