Once again, an IPS panel hides an Intel-based hardware configuration

All-in-one computers seem to come out all the time these days, each one made for a different sector of the worldwide market. ASUS is the one introducing the latest model, called ET2301 AiO PC.

Truth be told, there isn't anything spectacular about the ET2301 AiO PC, not compared to all the other AiO systems on sale today.

Sure, ASUS SonicMaster Premium audio technology could win some points, and the Intel Thunderbolt could act as a nice perk, even if it's little used for now.

Everything else, though, is par for the course, except, maybe, the discrete graphics card, NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M.

ASUS could have just left the video tasks to the integrated graphics processors (iGPs) located inside the Core i5 or Core i7 Haswell (fourth-generation series) CPUs that power the system.

It didn't, though, meaning that the company wanted the computer to be capable of more than document editing, media playback and web browsing.

Between that and the audio technology already mentioned, it's clear that ASUS is aiming for multimedia and even game lovers with this, instead of business users.

Speaking of specs, the 23-inch LCD is an IPS Full HD panel with 10-point multi-touch control and LED backlighting.

Also, whatever CPU is under the lid, there is a solid amount of memory backing it up.

Furthermore, ASUS tossed in Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi offers wireless data rates (867Mbit/s), USB 3.0, Intel Thunderbolt ports, and ASUS AiCharger II technology (50% faster USB recharging of smartphones and tablets, even when the system is turned off).

Add to that the Device Share mode and you have an all-in-one that can assume the role of desktop dock. Its display, speakers and USB peripherals can be used with a notebook PC over HDMI and USB. And the ASUS Ai Crosslink allows file sharing with other Windows PCs via USB.

Sadly, we do not know the price of the ASUS ET2301 AiO PC, as it was not included in ASUS' announcement.
