This is supposed to be much faster than HD 7970 Tahiti 2, but cheaper than dual Tahiti

AMD’s cool and efficient “Pitcairn” GPU seems like a perfect choice for dual-GPU video cards. Considering the fact that two of these GPUs are practically considerably more powerful than AMD’s Radeon HD 7970 top single video card, we were puzzled why there aren’t any manufacturers building such a card.

It seems now that ASUS is reportedly the one that is looking to capture a piece of that sub-1K dollar market with a card that is surely faster than AMD’s Radeon HD 7970, Nvidia’s GTX 680 and even faster than AMD’s “new” Tahiti 2 or HD 7970 GHz Edition.

The company is only doing the logical move of trying to secure a piece of the market that houses the $600 to $900 price points.

We eagerly await the new GPU hero from ASUS and we hope for a price lower than $700.
