For a while now, the general opinion has been that ASUS is the worldwide leading vendor of netbooks because of its vast Eee PC lineup. But nothing can prove that better than the Bestsellers in Computers and PC hardware list on Amazon.com. According to this chart, five out of the many Eee PC models available are among the top 10 most popular items in users' preferences.

As most of you already know, ASUS has done a great job in offering users a wide range of Eee PC models, each one providing a different set of features meant to satisfy the requirements of different types of consumers. Because of that, we can now see that five items from Amazon's top ten most popular Item in Notebooks are Eee PCs. That should give us a general idea about how ASUS' Eee PC family has indeed become one of the company's most successful product lineups.

The ranking system is updated each hour and, at the time of writing, the number 3 and 4 spot were occupied by ASUS' Eee PC 901 and 900, respectively. The number 1 spot belongs to Apple's MacBook, followed by a MacBook Pro. In fact, as strange as that might sound, competition is really tight between the Eee PC and Apple's MacBook for the bestseller computer product.

The 7th, 8th and 9th spot all belong to three Eee PC models, one of which is based on the early 7-inch model, while the other two are versions of the Eee PC 900 netbook. No other netbooks are to be found in the top ten but, further down, we can see HP's 8.9-inch Mini-Note and Acer's 8.9-inch Aspire One netbook holding on to positions number 12 and 15.

This chart, based on users' preferences, should give us a general idea of how popular these new portable computer systems have become, a trend that was initiated mostly by ASUS' Eee PC lineup, whose first member was the 7-inch Eee PC, released in 2007.
