14 DAY TRIAL // Today, ASRock has rolled out several new BIOS packages targeted at some of its motherboards that improve DRAM compatibility and update the Instant Flash Module, Intel Management Engine, as well as the PXE ROM.
In order to be clear, the producer has updated the BIOS versions for its H81M-ITX/WiFi (1.20), H81 Pro BTC (1.80), Fatal1ty Z87 Professional (1.90), and Fatal1ty H87 Performance (2.40) motherboards.
In addition to that, the new 1.40, 2.30, and 1.60 BIOS packages can also be downloaded for the producer’s Z87 Extreme11/ac, Z87 Extreme9/ac, and Z97M OC Formula units, respectively.
If the latest BIOS is applied to the aforementioned boards, the Intel Smart Connect Technology settings will be adjusted and an “Intel MEI Recovery” option will be added to the BIOS menu. Moreover, the new updates also add support for Intel’s i7-4790K, i5-4690K, Pentium G3258, and G3258 EZ OC processors.
However, bear in mind that not all changes are available for each motherboard, so make sure you check the changelog before you consider installing a new BIOS (the changelog can be viewed on the description page of each download).
