Not long ago, reports emerged claiming to have found out the exact launch date of AMD's upcoming 890GX mainboard chipset. Scheduled to be released on the 1st of March, the 890GX promises not only support for the six-core Thuban processor, but also the capabilities of the ATI Radeon HD 4200-series integrated graphics. The chipset is slated to debut at CeBIT as part of motherboards from a variety of manufacturers. One of them is ASRock, whose 890GX Extreme3 has already been detailed.

OCWorkbench reports that the ASRock 890GX Extreme3 (TRUE 333) mainboard is powered by the AMD 890GX + SB850 chipset and is designed with support for 4 DDR3 DIMM slots, three PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots, one PCI Express 2.0 x1 slot and three PCI slots. The motherboard also boasts the AMD Radeon HD 4290 integrated graphics and supports multiple CrossFireX modes, such as 3-way CrossFireX, ATI Quad CrossFireX and Hybrid CrossFireX.

The ASRock motherboard employs an all sold capacitor design and the full ATX form factor. It will be part of the TRUE 333 series and has six SATA ports, two USB ports, 7.1 channel audio and Gigabit Ethernet. Extra features of the device include octuner, IES, Instant Boot, Instant Flash, Smart Switch, OC DNA, Good Night LED and Dr. Debug.

The company's motherboard supports AMD AM3 socket central processing units, such as those from the AMD Phenom II line. These include the AMD Phenom II X2, X3 and X4, but not the 920 and 940 processors. The board will also be able to run Athlon II X2, X3 and X4 chips, as well as Sempron CPUs.

The price of the motherboard is not known for now, but the product itself will be demonstrated at CeBIT 2010, along with competing models from AMD's other partners.
