Even though it already has a number of high-end motherboards with SATA 6 Gbps and USB 3.0, ASRock decided to take things to the real extreme with the X58 Extreme6, a platform that has no less than six USB 3.0 connectors and just as many SATA 6Gbps ports.

From the name alone, one can deduce that this product is compatible with high-end Intel Central processing units, including six-core models.

This is expected, since the members of the Extreme line itself is known for targeting the higher end of the IT market.

Still, even ready for enthusiasts as they are, said boards don't exactly have many of the aforementioned ports, since there are only so many SATA 6Gbps connections that the chipset can support by itself.

One should also remember that Intel core-logic sets don't natively support USB 3.0, and controller chips usually handle two at most.

Still, ASRock went all the way and threw in as many third-party chips as was necessary to provide six SATA 6.0 Gbps and six USB 3.0 connectors.

The SuperSpeed connectors are distributed unevenly, four being on the back panel while the other two are on the front.

As for the rest of the feature set, it is just as high-end as one may expect, with extensive memory, graphics and overclocking capabilities.

The ASRock X58 Extreme6 comes with six DDR3-2000 memory slots (triple-channel possible) and support for multi-GPU setups (Quad SLI and CrossFireX are both possible).

Other specifications include Instant Boot, 7.1 channel audio, a debug LED, Power, Reset and Clear CMOS buttons, OC DNA, 100% Japan-made high-quality Conductive Polymer Capacitors and ASRock DuraCap (improves lifetime by 2.5 times).

Unfortunately, there has not been any official word on the device, as the information springs from a leak scored by OCWorkbench. As such, pricing and availability details are still undisclosed.
