We already talked at length about ARM’s amazing Cortex A15 architecture here, but it seems that the company’s main performance design can be used for all kinds of technology demonstrations.

Qualcomm is one of the biggest ARM performance integrators in the world. The company’s SnapDragon S4 processor is also based on the Cortex A15 architecture.

The SnapDragon S4 line of CPUs is comprised of low-power dual-core designs running at 1200 MHz, high-end mobile and tablet processors clocked at 1500 MHz and quad-core part targeted for netbooks, TV sets and other performance applications.

We don’t know exactly what version of the SnapDragon S4 line was used in Qualcomm’s demo, but it’s likely that it’s one of the first two.

No matter what version of CPU is used, it’s clear that the A15 architecture is very power-efficient and everybody knows that a dual-core S4 is slightly faster than a quad-core Tegra 3.
