ARCHOS has made available a new firmware package targeted at one of its tablets, namely version 20140213.175138 developed for the GamePad 2 device, which includes some changes that should improve the device’s overall performance and stability.

Specifically speaking, the new GamePad 2 update increases the device’s display refresh rate from 57Hz to 60Hz, fixes the GPU texture artifacts encountered in certain games, and integrates the latest Google apps.

When it comes to installing this version, get the downloadable “update.zip” archive and transfer it onto the root folder of the device’s internal storage through a USB cable – make sure you don’t copy it into any other folder, otherwise the tablet won’t update.

When the transfer has successfully completed, remove the USB cable, connect the DC-IN charger into the tablet, and wait for the GamePad 2 to find the newly copied file.

When the firmware is found, the device will automatically display a dialog where you should tap “Install” in order to agree with new version and to start the upgrade process.

Bear in mind that, while the installation is in progress, you shouldn’t power off the device or interrupt the process in any way, so that the tablet doesn’t encounter an update crash, which might also damage the device.

That being said, download ARCHOS GamePad 2 Firmware 20140213.175138, take into account all the above-mentioned aspects, apply the new update, and upgrade your tablet’s firmware to the latest version.
