APT (Advanced Package Tool), a set of core tools inside Debian that makes it possible to install, remove and keep applications up to date, is now at version 0.9.9.2.

Advanced Package Tool has been launched back in 1998, and 15 years later it's almost at version 1.0. If they properly time their releases, the final version might arrive right on their anniversary.

Highlights of APT 0.9.9.2:

• The if-clause is now able to generate hook-info for 'rc' packages; • The Vietnamese translation has been updated; • linux-image*, linux-restricted-modules*, and linux-ubuntu-modules* packages are no longer included in Debian/apt.conf.autoremove; • Various fixes and changes have been fixed.

A complete list of changes and updates can be found in the official announcement.

Download APT (Advanced Package Tool) 0.9.9.2 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a beta version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
