APT (Advanced Package Tool), a set of core tools inside Debian that make it possible to install, remove, and keep applications up to date, is now at version 0.9.15.2.

Advanced Package Tool was launched back in 1998, and 15 years later it's almost at version 1.0. The developers are still releasing small increments, and it will take it a while to get to 1.0.

Highlights of APT 0.9.15.2:

• APT::VersionSet is now used instead of a VersionList; • The code has been simplified; • The libapt-pkg.symbols file has been updated; • The empty APT_CONFIG environment variable is no longer used; • The patchfiles are now always cleaned up at the end of rred call; • apt-cdrom is now working properly.

A complete list of changes and updates can be found in the official announcement. Download APT (Advanced Package Tool) 0.9.15.2 right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
