APT (Advanced Package Tool), a set of core tools inside Debian that makes it possible to install, remove, and keep applications up to date, is now at version 0.9.12.1.

Advanced Package Tool was launched back in 1998, and 15 years later it's almost at version 1.0. The developers are still releasing small increments and it will take a while to get to 1.0.

Highlights of APT 0.9.12.1:

• pkgname:arch is no longer sent over APT::Status-Fd so that it doesn't break the clients anymore. A new APT::Status-deb822-Fd will be used to fix this; • Integration tests for APT::Status-Fd have been added; • Missing _() around the new "Progress" string have been added.

A complete list of changes and updates can be found in the official announcement. Download APT (Advanced Package Tool) 0.9.12.1 right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
