The palm rest and the numpad can be broken off from the whole

Peripherals used to be a pretty dull part of computing, but then games came out, and fashion tastes started seeping in, and eventually, the aesthetic and functionality concerns melded together to create things like the new gaming keyboard from AORUS.

You see, for a long time now, the term “gaming peripheral” has been used to denote mice, keyboards and audio headphones that were both functional and good looking.

The newest product from AORUS is a keyboard, one that not only benefits from the good tactile feedback and durability of individual mechanical switches for the keys, but also has a sleek, black look with blue LED backlight.

The fact that the product can split off into three distinct parts is another thing. Well, two parts if you don't count the palm rest, but still multiple parts.

The numpad can be attached to the main keyboard part on either side, which is great if you're left-handed.

The exact name of the newcomer is THUNDER K7 Detachable Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with Cherry RED switches.

That's right, don't let the light fool you, the switches are red. Meaning they're the best at, well, everything (durability for millions of strokes, tactile feedback).

Cherry switches are color-coded, you see. Blue, green, red, brown, they all have some sort of advantage over the others. Well, except the red ones, which have everything, though they do cost more.

Needless to say, AORUS has installed Anti-Ghosting technology on the K7. It wouldn't do to press more than one or three keys and have the system choke after all.

This was a big problem back in the day, when two friends would sit in front of a PC and try to play Mortal Kombat against one another, only for one or both of them to have difficulty pulling off combos because having four hands pressing down on keyboard keys resulted in confused beeps on the PC's part.

In general, keyboards have gotten better, but problems can still arise, so Anti-Ghosting technology was developed to allow a peripheral to process multiple simultaneous contacts. In this case, the anti-ghosting matrix key-switch design is used.

AORUS launched the Thunder K7 gaming keyboard along with the AORUS THUNDER M7 Specialized MMO/MOBA gaming mouse, but we'll be taking a look at that product a bit later, so stick around.

Sadly, the price of the Thunder K7 keyboard is unknown, even though the product page is already online (and extensive too).
