AOL has taken down Google from the top of the list of the most video ads watched in September.
According to ComScore’s Web video rankings, AOL grabbed 3.7 billion views, while Google only had 3.2 billion.
It seems the decisive element was AOL’s takeover of Adap.tv last month, which made it climb the ladder quickly. Now, their numbers are mixed together, which is particularly handy since Adap.tv was already number two the previous month.
“Clear this is early, what they reflect right now is the sum of parts, but it’s where the parts are growing quickly. So I do think what you should expect is even faster growth,” Amir Ashkenazi, CEO and founder of Adap.tv, told CNET
AOL further brags that its 3.7 billion ads displayed last month are the largest number by a single property ever recorded by ComScore.
