AOL: No More Viruses, Hackers Or Spyware For FREE!

New AOL Internet Security Central rolled out

AOL has just rolled out a new version of the Internet Security Central, a special portal that allows you to use a freeware set of tools to protect your computer from viruses, hackers, spyware and other infections. The folks from AOL proudly announced that they managed to partner with McAfee in order to bundle McAfee VirusScan Plus - Special edition from AOL into its offering. Basically,
this new solution protects your system from being attacked by viruses and other threats using well-developed features.

Beside the auto-update function and the on-guard protection, McAfee VirusScan Plus - Special edition from AOL detects all kinds of dangerous content such as hacker activity, spyware files and dangerous processes concerning your computer. Also, the newly released application offers several PC performance tools that will help you optimize the computer's configuration. And best of all, the entire offering is available for free for all the users with a free AOL or AIM screen name.

"With the launch of AOL Internet Security Central, we are offering consumers the most comprehensive suite of free safety and security products available," said Steve Murphy, Senior Vice President, AOL Client and Safety Management. "By combining McAfee's security service with AOL's Parental Controls and premier security features, we can ensure a safer experience for our users and their personal computers."

Beside this new application, the AOL Internet Security Central offers several tools able to protect your computer such as AOL parental controls, active security monitor, phishing protection, spam protection and web pop-up controls.

"We are very excited that AOL is offering a special edition of our VirusScan Plus service to its members," said Todd Gebhart, Senior Vice President and General Manager, McAfee Consumer, Mobile and Small Business. "We have had a long alliance with AOL, and we look forward to our continued partnership."

I had recently added McAfee to my coputer but noticed every time I opened AOL the McAfee small screen appeared first...then, the AOL screen. Can you tell my why this happened.....
