
AOL revealed via a press release the introduction of a music video downloading feature to complement its Music Now Website. The Web-based music download solution has undergone a revamp of proportions
that added streaming radio and user community capabilities alongside the music video content. The service has debuted on August 29, and AOL has highlighted the fact that it delivers in excess of 2,500,000 songs and thousand of videos.
"The previous service was very simple in its construct with the main goal of allowing people to listen to unlimited music on demand," said Amit Shafrir, president of AOL Music Now. "The new service has a lot more features to it. It's completely redesigned."
Audio tracks and music videos can be individually acquired from AOL Music Now for $0.99 and $1,99, respectively, per title. Additionally, the online music store has made its downloading services available on a subscription basis. For a monthly fee of $9.95 customers can access unlimited downloads while the $14.95 subscription will deliver the possibility of file transfer to portable music players. As yet the AOL Music Now is available only in the United Stated, but the company has chosen not to disclose details about the number of its subscribers.
