FUN Technologies' subsidiary, WorldWinner has announced the renewal of its agreement with AOL (formerly referred to fully as America Online) to provide skill-based cash and prize, and other tournaments on AOL Games. Good news for online gamers and especially those attending tournaments, as agreement terms say that WorldWinner is to develop a customized, co-branded site where AOL players can compete against thousands of players in the WorldWinner network.

The customized site will feature WorldWinner's complete game offerings, including popular casual titles such as SCRABBLE Cubes, Solitaire, Bejeweled 2 and Luxor. "We are proud to extend our partnership with AOL - a leading consumer brand and innovator of online services," said Lorne Abony, CEO of FUN Technologies. "Our relationship further strengthens FUN's position as one of the leaders in the casual games industry, introducing millions of new players to WorldWinner's popular tournament games. We looking forward to continuing to offer exciting, fast-paced, skill-based cash and other prize competitions to new and existing AOL users around the world."

AOL's software as of August 2006 (AOL 9.0) was once identified by Stopbadware as being "under investigation," says Wikipedia, for installing additional software without disclosure, and modifying browser preferences, toolbars, and icons. However, as of the release of AOL 9.0 VR on January 26, 2007, it is no longer considered "badware" due to changes AOL made in the software. It was only on October 4, 2006, that AOL released its healthy new, free internet suite, AOL OpenRide, which combined a web browser, instant messenger, email client and media player in one program window.

FUN Technologies is one of the world's leading providers of online interactive casual, fantasy, sports games and information so, even if you don't have intentions of subscribing, I suggest you check it out just for the information on the skill-based cash and prize tournaments. You might find them interesting.
