Yet another liquid crystal display offer has emerged, although this time, it is only a preview of what will become available in early 2010. AOC has unveiled two almost finished TV monitors, which combine an elegant design with the option to quickly and easily switch between computer and video/TV entertainment.

AOC seems to promise much with its upcoming TV monitors. The 2290Fwt and 2490Fwt will be capable of a maximum resolution of 1920x1080 pixels (at 60Hz) and will measure 21.6 inches and 23.6 inches, respectively. The products' screens will employ TN panels and will have a contrast ratio of 10,000:1 (1,000), as well as a brightness of 300 cd/m².

As far as television support is concerned, the two products will boast a PAL / SECAM / DVB-T TV-capable tuner system suited for receiving ATV / DTV input. The screen aspect ratio is 4:3 (Full Screen / ZOOM1 / ZOOM2 / Panorama / AUTO) and both monitors will integrate audio output capabilities, with two 3W speakers for the 2290Fwt and two 5W speakers for the 2490Fwt. The models have a display angle of 176/160 and a response time of 5 ms.

The 2490Fwt uses at most 65W of power when in operation, which is actually less than one watt when in standby, and the 2290Fwt consumes just as little. Monitor functions include Sleep Timer (Off/15/30/45/60/90/120), Eco Mode, Backlight Control, Teletext, Format control (SCART Pin 8 / WSS) and PC Power Saving Mode (when using the D-Sub connector). Obviously, the displays have D-sub connectivity, but can also receive video input via HDMI 1.3, SCART, S-Video, CI Card, Composite CVBS Input and Component Input. The products are equipped with connectors for PC audio and earphones.

The 2290Fwt and 2490Fwt will be accompanied by respective price tags of 219 Euro and 249 Euro and will come with a three-year warranty.
