AOC unleashes a pair of new WLED monitors

Even though it didn't exactly flood the market with a slew of new products, or product lines, this month, as most PC makers did, AOC is still known for its significant inclination towards high dynamic contrast ratios (DCR) and overall high performance when it comes to its monitors. This tendency seems to be all but confirmed by the two LCDs it just unleashed, known as the e2237Fwh and e2437Fh.

Among the last liquid crystal displays that AOC unveiled, back in May, was the e2239Fwt. This panel drew eyes through the fact that, despite having a regular brightness of 250 cd/m2, its DCR was of no less than 20,000,000:1. Now, the same DCR has shown up in the latest duo, seemingly to enforce AOC's prominence in this regard.

The e2237Fwh and e2437Fh liquid crystal displays have screen sizes of 22 inches and 24 inches, respectively, and they both support the Full HD resolution of 1920 x 180 pixels. Also, like their predecessors, they make use of WLED backlighting and have a brightness of 250 cd/m2. Still, the high DCR is not the only noteworthy asset. In fact, the duo are outfitted with the so-called i-Care sensor, which detects ambient lighting conditions and uses them as a criteria for automatically adjusting the brightness of the panels themselves.

In order to be compatible with as wide a variety of graphics card and, thus, computers as possible, the newcomers boast D-Sub, DVI and HDMI connectors. As for the actual design, consumers may be intrigued by the transparent frame and the blue light bar under the LCD panel itself. Unfortunately, there is, at present, no word on pricing. Nevertheless, this last detail shouldn't take overly long to surface, considering that both the AOC e2237Fwh and e2437Fh are slated to start shipping, in Europe at least, by August.
