It has a surprisingly low resolution for such a fast screen, if 1080p even qualifies

We surely live in interesting times if the 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution can be considered “poor” in any situation, but here we are.

AOC has formally released the gaming-focused 27-inch monitor known as g2770Pqu. Perhaps under normal circumstances, the 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution would have seemed normal, high even.

Alas, when the refresh rate is a 144 Hz good enough for 3D support (though the company doesn't seem to specifically mention support for it, suspiciously enough), Full HD is kind of lackluster.

At least the TN panel (narrow viewing angles aside) has a good response time of 1 ms, and a decent brightness of 300 cd/m2.

Also, the inputs it can receive video streams from include DisplayPort, HDMI, D-Sub and DVI.

Finally, the stand of the AOC g2770Pqu monitor possesses height adjustment, as well as pivot support and swivel.

All in all, it's a fairly normal monitor, although the one thing that makes it stand out is, sadly, not a positive quality. Or maybe I'm just making too big a deal of the pair made by the resolution and refresh rate, that's possible too.

The price of the AOC g2770Pqu is of €419 / $567, or will be once sales start at the end of the month (June 2014).
