It looks like monitor makers aren't just unleashing new displays, they are also preparing, in advance, for what they will do in the months to come, something that AOC made more than clear not long ago.

In the IT industry, for any company it is essential that they never forget to plan ahead, since any slip up can cause them to fall behind.

As such, virtually every company has what has come to be known as a roadmap, basically a plan for when and where new products are expected to be released.

These plans can stretch over not just months, but even several years and, while they usually get modified, they work well as guidelines.

That said, AOC has already decided on what to do during this year's summer, as far as its display solutions go at least.

Basically, the 50 ID series of monitors will be formally introduced during the month of June, all of them widescreen models with WLED backlighting.

All of them have a response time of 5ms, as well as a dynamic contrast ratio of 20,000,000:1, plus power efficiency thanks to the aforementioned LED.

They also have built-in speakers, USB ports, a stand with pivot, height and tilt, plus D-Sub and DVI, as well as HDMI on some models.

What distinguishes between them are the screen sizes and the native resolutions each individual panel supports.

Only the 23-inch and 23.6-inch displays have Full HD support (1,920 x 1,080 pixels), along with the 21.5-inch model.

Meanwhile, the 18.5-inch one is a HD product (1,366 x 768 pixels), the 20-inch has a native resolution of 1,600 x 900 pixels and the 22-inch one boasts 1680 x 1050 pixels.

Unfortunately, this turned out to be another one of those occasions when a product, or in this case collection, failed to get priced.
