AMD seems to confirm the rumors that stated the company plans to officially introduce its Llano accelerated processing units at the Computex 2011 fair, as a recently issued press release states that on the first day of the show AMD will disclose exciting news about the future of its Fusion APU family.

The announcement will be transmitted live over the Internet (link here) and is scheduled to take place on May 31 at 10:30 p.m. ET.

“The live webcast will offer details on how AMD's 2011 VISION Technology refresh will better serve consumers in selecting the best next generation of computing experiences and offer sneak previews of new products planned for release in 2011.

“During the 90-minute webcast, AMD executives and a number of partners will also share exciting news on future plans for the AMD Fusion Family of APUs,” reads the company's press release.

A previous document that was leaked online and presumably belonged to AMD also indicated the company plans to announce its mobile Llano platform, code named Sabine, in the first day of Computex 2011.

AMD's Llano APUs use the company's K10.5+/Husky x86 processor architecture and pair it together with a DirectX 11 compatible on-die GPU.

This can feature up to six SIMD engines with 80 stream processors each and the GPU is also accompanied by an integrated dual-channel DDR3 memory controller, a PCI Express controller, up to 4MB of cache and select CPUs even pack AMD's Turbo Core 2.0 dynamic acceleration technology.

Computer manufacturers can choose to pair the AMD's mobile APUs with the A60M or A70M chipsets, which both offer similar features outside of native USB 3.0 support which is only found in the A70M FCH.

Sabine will be followed by the Lynx platform, which is made up of the Llano desktop APUs and the Hudson D2 and Hudson D3 Fusion controller hubs.
