The company's announcement was remarkably vague regarding the cause

It appears that the management changes at Advanced Micro Devices are far from over, with yet another company executive taking his leave.

In a rather short announcement, Sunnyvale, California-based Advanced Micro Devices has let the world know that Emilio Ghilardi is departing.

The man had held the position of senior vice president and chief sales officer from 2008 until today. The company has already begun looking for a replacement, but did not specify the reason for this occurrence.

“I’d like to thank Emilio for his contributions to the business and wish him well in his future endeavors,” said Rory Read, AMD president and chief executive officer, who has assumed the position of interim sales chief.

“Developing relationships with our customers that are grounded in a foundation of trust through consistently delivering on our commitments is critical, and we are making progress toward that goal. AMD enters 2012 with significant momentum, and we are building upon that momentum by embracing the shifts occurring in the industry and marrying market needs with innovative technologies to become a consistent growth engine.”

High-ranking executives from AMD have been leaving the company left and right ever since the company finally found a new CEO last year, but that is not all.

The CPU, GPU and APU maker also had to reduce its global workforce, with the PR and marketing departments suffering a particularly hard blow.

All in all, AMD is in the middle of a restructuring process, though it has been holding its own even in these conditions.

In fact, the IT player made the Top 20 on the S&P 500 Clean Capitalism Ranking list compiled by Corporate Knights.

“By combining a strong set of quantitative metrics with transparent, best-in-class research, Corporate Knights is providing a valuable tool to help key stakeholders decide which companies are truly committed to corporate responsibility,” said Allyson Peerman, corporate vice president, AMD public affairs.

“AMD’s worldwide stakeholders should celebrate not only this prestigious recognition, but also their commitment to a company that walks the talk.”
